Heavy Rain To Lash Uttar Pradesh Till July 9, IMD Alert In These Districts For Today

The IMD forecasts continued rainfall until July 9, with intensified showers in western UP from July 5. Thunderstorms and lightning are expected, and alerts have been issued for several districts.

The southwest monsoon is progressing faster than usual across Uttar Pradesh. In the past 24 hours, the state’s southern regions witnessed heavy rainfall, while parts of western UP saw light showers, leaving residents in Noida, Ghaziabad, and nearby areas grappling with humid heat. Rainfall is expected in several parts of the state on Friday as well, although temperatures are not likely to see significant changes.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rainfall will continue across Uttar Pradesh on July 4. Thunderstorms accompanied by showers are forecast at a few places in the western region, with isolated chances of lightning strikes.

In eastern Uttar Pradesh, districts including Mirzapur, Jaunpur, and Varanasi are likely to receive heavy downpours today, accompanied by thunder. Alerts for lightning have also been issued in many areas.

The rainy spell is expected to persist in Uttar Pradesh until July 9. From July 5, the western parts of the state may experience intensified rainfall, with heavy showers predicted over the next three days. Despite the rain, there’s unlikely to be any major change in maximum or minimum temperatures across the state for now.
