UP Weather: Alert For Rain And Thunderstorms In 20 Districts Today

The IMD has predicted thunderstorms and showers in multiple districts across western Uttar Pradesh. Districts such as Lalitpur and Saharanpur may receive intense rainfall today.

Despite ongoing monsoon activity across Uttar Pradesh, regions like Noida and Ghaziabad are still awaiting consistent rainfall. On Monday morning, several parts of the state witnessed dense cloud cover, but only light drizzles occurred, offering little relief from the humid heat. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), 20 districts are likely to receive rainfall today (Tuesday), although the monsoon is expected to weaken from July 10 onward.

The IMD has predicted thunderstorms and showers in multiple districts across western Uttar Pradesh. Districts such as Lalitpur, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, and Pilibhit are expected to receive widespread and intense rainfall today.

In addition, warnings for heavy downpours and lightning strikes have been issued for Agra, Firozabad, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, and Mahoba.

Scattered thunderstorms with rain are likely in districts like Noida, Hapur, Amroha, Sambhal, Bareilly, Budaun, Kasganj, Aligarh, Bulandshahr, Etah, Mainpuri, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur, Hardoi, Sitapur, Shahjahanpur, Sonbhadra, and Jhansi.

Light to moderate rain is forecasted in Mathura, Agra, Hathras, Etawah, Auraiya, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Banda, Chitrakoot, Unnao, Lucknow, Barabanki, Bahraich, Shravasti, and Mirzapur.

A few areas in Balrampur, Gonda, Ayodhya, Amethi, Raebareli, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Sant Ravidas Nagar, and Siddharthnagar may receive light drizzles.

While some regions brace for heavy downpours and thunder, others may continue experiencing only mild showers as the monsoon begins to lose intensity by mid-July.

IMD Forecasts Rain Entire Week

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rainfall is expected to continue throughout the week. Many areas in western Uttar Pradesh are likely to witness moderate to heavy rain with thunder and lightning. A heavy rain alert has been issued for districts such as Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Rampur, Bijnor, and Baghpat. IMD has also warned of lightning strikes in isolated places.
