UP Man Arrested For 'Spying' For Pakistan, Supplied Money And SIM Cards To ISI Agents
Shehzad had repeatedly visited Pakistan and allegedly passed classified Indian security information to ISI agents under the guise of smuggling goods across the border.

A man from Uttar Pradesh was arrested by the UP Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) for his allegedly spying in India for Pakistan's Inter-Servives Intelligence (ISI). The accused, Shehzad, is a resident of UP's Rampur district, and was arrested from Moradabad on Saturday.
Shahzad's arrest comes amid a nationwide crackdown on individuals allegedly spying for Pakistani intelligence agencies, which has already led to the arrest of several people, including YouTubers and social media influencers.
According to the UP ATS, Shehzad had been visiting Pakistan for the past several years and was involved in smuggling cosmetics, clothes, spices, and other goods illegally across the border between India and Pakistan. Investigations revealed that under the guise of this, he worked for the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI.

Shahzad is also accused of having good relations with the ISI agents, with whom he was said to be in constant touch, sharing confidential information related to India's security with the ISI agents.
Further investigation revealed that Shahzad used to provide funds to ISI agents operating in India. He allegedly sent people from many parts of Rampur district and Uttar Pradesh to Pakistan to work for ISI under the guise of smuggling. ATS said that the travel documents and visas of these people were also arranged by ISI. Shahzad is also said to have provided Indian SIMs to the ISI agents to spy against India.
When the ATS received confirmation of this information, an FIR was registered against Shahzad under sections 148 and 152 at the STF police station in Lucknow.
He was taken into custody by UP ATS from Moradabad, and has been presented before the court as per rules. Further legal proceedings are underway, the ATS statement read.
