'Go Back Governor' Slogans Rock UP Assembly Budget Session Day 1, House Adjourned
Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel's address to the State Assembly was met with protests from Samajwadi Party and Congress MLAs, who chanted "Go Back Governor."

The Samajwadi Party and Congress MLAs raised "Go Back Governor" slogans as Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel addressed the State Assembly on the budget session day on Tuesday.

On the speech of the Governor in the assembly, SP leader Shivpal Yadav said, "This was a completely false speech prepared by the government. The Governor did not read this false speech completely. All the MLAs of Samajwadi Party also demanded that this false speech should not be read. She accepted our demand and didn't read the full speech..."

Earlier, ahead of the Budget session, SP members staged a demonstration in assembly premises over various issues, including Sambhal and death of devotees in the Kumbh stampede. The party members carried banners and placards in their hands and raised slogans against the government, news agency PTI reported.
Senior SP MLA Amitabh Trivedi alleged the government was presenting fake figures on the number of devotees who died and took bath in the Maha Kumbh Mela and demanded the government should hold a discussion on the Kumbh issue in the House.
SP MLA Atul Pradhan tied himself in chains and protested outside the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. He said, "The government is unable to provide employment so people are going abroad through the donkey route... The government should ensure that no Indian is deported in handcuffs in the future."
