A disturbing incident of road rage unfolded in Bengaluru late Tuesday night, when a Swiggy delivery executive was violently assaulted by three unidentified men near Modi Hospital Junction. The attack, captured on video, has triggered public outrage over the growing safety concerns for delivery workers in metro cities.

The horrifying footage shows the rider being punched and kicked repeatedly, allegedly for simply following traffic rules.

Assault Sparked By Traffic Signal Argument

The incident occurred when the delivery agent stopped his two-wheeler at a red light. A vehicle behind him which reportedly carried three men, began honking and pressurised him to move ahead, even though the traffic signal was clearly red.

When the rider tried to explain that he was following traffic regulations, a heated argument erupted. What started as a verbal exchange quickly escalated into a violent assault. All three men got out of the car and began physically attacking the delivery executive.

The video shows the attackers punching and kicking the rider until he was left bleeding on the road. The victim alleges that the men appeared to be intoxicated at the time of the incident.

Victim Files Complaint, Police Begin Probe

Following the assault, the injured delivery agent approached the Basaveshwaranagar Police Station to register a complaint. Police officials have confirmed that a case will be filed and assured that a full investigation is underway to identify and trace the attackers.

The video evidence is expected to play a key role in helping authorities locate the suspects. Meanwhile, the incident has reignited discussions around the need for stronger protections for gig economy workers, especially those working late hours under high-pressure conditions.

This attack serves as a grim reminder of the dangers delivery agents face daily and the urgent need for safer working conditions.
