Sambhal Court Commissioner Submits Survey Report Of Shahi Jama Masjid To District Court

The court-ordered survey on November 19 had triggered violence in Sambhal that left 5 people dead and 20 police officers injured.

The commissioner appointed by the local court in Sambhal has submitted the survey report of the Shahi Jama Masjid on Thursday.

Advocate Commissioner Ramesh Singh Raghav has submitted the survey report of the Shahi Jama Masjid to the court in the Shahi Jama Masjid–Harihar Mandir dispute.

The survey of the Shahi Jama Masjid was conducted on November 19 and November 24. The survey report was submitted to the Chandausi District Court in Sambhal.

During the second round of survey on November 24, protesting locals clashed with security personnel, leading to a major violence which led to death of four people and injuries to dozens.

"The survey report of Shahi Jama Masjid is almost in the final stage and complete. There are some technical issues, which will be adjusted today. As it is the last working day of the court after which it will close. As far as the survey report is concerned, it will be filed on January 2 or 3. There is a stay order of the Supreme Court to the trial court not to take any action till January 6 hence the survey report will be filed before this date," Raghav had said last month.

Earlier this week, a delegation from the Samajwadi Party (SP) had reached the city and handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh each as compensation to the kin of the victims of the violence. The Uttar Pradesh Assembly's Leader of Opposition (LoP) Mata Prasad Pandey led the delegation to Sambhal, which witnessed violence in November after a court-ordered
