Odisha: Tensions In Bhadrak District Over Social Media Post
The unrest was triggered by the post made by a youth from a particular community, which prompted members of the opposing group to organise a protest rally. Clashes erupted when both communities engaged in brick-batting, escalating further when police intervened to stop the unauthorised rally.
Two police personnel, including the Bhadrak Deputy Superintendent of Police and a Sub-Inspector from Bhadrak Town Police Station, suffered injuries during the confrontations. In response to the escalating violence, police used a mild lathicharge to disperse the crowd.
The prime accused has been presented before the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate Court in Bhadrak and is now in judicial custody, ANI reported.
