Fake Ticket Examiner Caught At Pecharthal Railway Station In North Tripura
A fake ticket examiner was detained at Pecharthal railway station in North Tripura. Later he was transferred to the Government Railway Police in Dharmanagar.
The day after a fake ticket examiner was detained at Manu railway station, another individual posing as a TTE was arrested at Pecharthal railway station in North Tripura on Thursday.
According to a report by Indian Express, a railway official stated that 24-year-old Kaushik Sarkar was handed over to authorities by passengers who grew suspicious of his behaviour while he checked the tickets of hawkers and others on an Agartala-Dharmanagar train. Later, Sarkar was transferred to the Government Railway Police in Dharmanagar.
Fake TTE Detained At Manu railway station In Tripura
A man was detained at the Manu railway station in Tripura on Wednesday for reportedly posing as a travelling ticket examiner and collecting “fines” from ticketless passengers.
As per the report of India Express, the police confirmed that the accused was identified as Hossain Ali, a resident of Kailashahar in the Unakoti district of Tripura.
Ali told police he received a message on Instagram offering a central government position. “They (members of the online group) messaged me on Instagram about providing a central government job. I thought it’s a central government job and I could earn a good amount of money. They gave me a link to fill the application form. Later, they informed me that I had been selected. They even sent me a uniform, a diary, and even an ID card,” he said to the police.
Ali further told the police that he was asked to collect Rs 150 and Rs 200 as fines from long-distance ticket-less passengers travelling on trains.
