2 Killed After SUV Collides Into Two Cars After Hitting Divider On Noida Link Road

Police said their bodies have been sent to LBS Hospital for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered at Mayur Vihar police station.

Two people were killed and one injured after an SUV hit two cars in the opposite lane after colliding with a road divider on Noida Link road, near east Delhi's Mayur Vihar on Sunday, police said.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, police said the incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. on Sunday. The report further disclosed that a Bolero car first hit the central verge. As a result, the SUV deviated into the opposite lane and hit a Baleno before overturning into a cab.

Police added that during the accident, the driver and one of the passengers of the cab, identified as Arjun Solanki and Suman Dhoopra, lost their lives. Another identified as Sanjeev, Suman Dhoopra's husband was severely injured and rushed to a private hospital in Noida, a police officer stated.

"The bodies have been sent to LBS Hospital for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered at Mayur Vihar police station," police further added. The police officer confirmed that the Bolero driver fled the scene and efforts are being made to arrest him.

4 Killed After Autorickshaw Collide With Truck In Jharkhand's Ramgarh

In a separate incident, on January 8, three schoolchildren were among four, who lost their lives after their autorickshaw collided with a truck in the Ramgarh district of Jharkhand on Wednesday morning, police said.

Four students sustained injuries in the accident and were admitted to Sadar Hospital for treatment, police said. The incident took place around 8 a.m. near Mathuatand village in the Gola police station area, approximately 50 km from Ramgarh. 

"Three schoolchildren traveling in the auto and its driver lost their lives in the accident," Ramgarh Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar told PTI.

Ramgarh Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Parmeshwar Prasad stated that the accident happened when a potato-laden truck overturned after colliding with the auto.

Deputy Superintendent of Sadar Hospital, Dr. Mrityunjay Kumar Singh, said, "Four injured students were brought to the hospital, and one has been referred to RIMS in Ranchi for further treatment." The deceased were identified as Neeru Kumari (6), Ashish Kumar Mahto (6), Anmol Mahto (5), and the auto driver, Sarfaraz Ansari (32).
