A new video has surfaced showing students leaping and climbing down from the balconies of a building at a medical college in Ahmedabad to save their lives after the London-bound Air India plane crashed into it on June 12.
The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, with 242 passengers and crew members on board, crashed into the BJ Medical College Hostel just moments after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 1:39 PM.
In the latest video accessed by ABP Live, a group of people, believed to be students, can be seen climbing over the railings of a balcony in an attempt to escape, as massive flames engulf the lower floors of the building. The fire is believed to have been caused by the impact of the Air India plane crash.
Panic-stricken voices can be heard as fire billows in front of the building. Makeshift ropes made of tied bedsheets are seen hanging from the balconies, while people use the railings in a desperate bid to climb down and escape.

Although all onboard the ill-fated flight, and nearly 30 others on the ground lost their lives in the crash, one passenger miraculously walked out of the aircraft. The casualties also include five MBBS students of the BJ Medical College.
Several medical students and resident doctors were having lunch at the hostel mess when the tail-side portion of the aircraft rammed into the hostel building, turning an everyday lunch hour into a nightmare.
