Cow Vigilantes Lynch Class 12 Student In Haryana

A Class 12 student was shot dead by cow vigilantes in the Faridabad district of Haryana after they mistakenly assumed him to be a cow smuggler. On August 23, five members of the vigilante group pursued the victim, Aryan Mishra, in a car and shot him.

Aryan and his two friends, Shanky and Harshit, were chased for about 30 kilometers by the accused—identified as Anil Kaushik, Varun, Krishna, Adesh, and Saurabh—before Aryan was shot, according to an NDTV report. The incident took place near Gadhpuri on the Delhi-Agra National Highway.

The vigilantes had reportedly received information about suspected cow smugglers driving a Renault Duster and Toyota Fortuner. While searching for them, the group spotted a Duster at Patel Chowk and ordered the driver, Harshit, to stop. However, the trio did not comply, fearing it was an attack due to Shanky's past rivalry with others.

As they attempted to flee, the vigilantes opened fire, hitting Aryan near the neck. After the car stopped, they fired again, assuming Aryan's friends might retaliate. Upon noticing two women in the car, the accused realised they had targeted the wrong people and fled. Aryan was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries the next day.
