Mumbai Police Tracks Down Suspect Behind Threat Call To Salman Khan. Check Details

Hours after the threat message, the Worli Police registered an FIR against an unidentified individual and launched a probe. The cops traced the number to a 26-year-old man in a village near Vadodara.

The Mumbai Police on Monday zeroed in on the suspect behind the threat messages to Bollywood Actor Salman Khan.

The development comes hours after an unidentified person threatened to blow up actor Salman Khan's car with a bomb and assault the actor by entering his residence.

The Mumbai Police said that the Worli Traffic Control Room's WhatsApp number received a threat message for Khan on Sunday morning wherein it was threatened that the actor would be killed at his home and an explosion would be executed in his vehicle.

Hours after the threat message, the Worli Police registered an FIR against an unidentified individual and launched an investigation. The cops traced the number to a 26-year-old man in a village near Vadodara in Gujarat.

The Mumbai Police has sent a notice to the man for investigation in the case. The suspect has been asked to appear before Worli Police within 2-3 days, the police said.

They further said that it is being claimed that the man is mentally unstable and is under treatment.

The latest death threat message comes exactly a year after two men fired gunshots outside Khan's Bandra house, Galaxy Apartments, on April 14. The two assailants, identified as Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, were later apprehended in Bhuj, Gujarat.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police tightened the security outside Khan's residence.

The police have registered the case against the unidentified individual under Section 351(2)(3) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Khan previously faced threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which warned him of consequences if he did not apologise to the Bishnoi community over the alleged killing of a blackbuck. Following these threats, Mumbai police provided him with Y-Plus security.

Weeks after the firing incident last year, Navi Mumbai Police claimed to have uncovered a plot by the Bishnoi gang to kill Khan when he travelled to his farmhouse at Panvel near Mumbai.
