Mumbai School Receives Bomb Threat, Second Case In Three Days
A school in Mumbai's Kandivali was evacuated after a bomb threat was received via email.

A school in Mumbai's Kandivali area received bomb threat on Monday after which police and disposal squad teams rushed to the spot. The threat was sent to the school via an email stating that a bomb has been placed in the inside the building. The school has been vacated and police are investigating the matter.
The incident comes just three days after another school in the city received such a hoax threat. On January 23, Ryan Global School in Andheri's Jogeshwari-Oshiwara area received the threat after which local police and bomb squad swung into action.
The same day, several schools in Delhi also received similar threats, allegedly from the banned pro-Khalistan group, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ).
In the email, the SFJ reportedly stated it is "taking decisive action to prevent President Droupadi Murmu from unfurling the Tiranga as a protest against the Constitution, which erases identity and perpetuates systemic oppression."
The email contained a warning against celebrating Republic Day threatening a "high risk of violence and state retaliation."
The mail also warned people of sending students or staff to any Republic Day events.
"Ensure families are informed to keep their children at home on January 26. Participation in Republic Day events poses a grave threat to the safety of students and staff. It is your responsibility to prioritise their well-being on symbolic involvement in state-sponsored celebrations. Delhi has been warned. Stay Home, Stay Safe," the email read.
A day later, the principal of Navrachana School in Guajrat's Vadodara was sent a similar mail. The school was closed and students and staff were sent home after which police conducted a thorough check of the school premises.
On Sunday, the Jammu police received a bomb threat ahead of the official Republic Day ceremony. The email containing the threat stated that a bomb has been placed at MAM stadium where the main programme was to be held with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in presence.
