2 Minor Brothers Found Dead In Odisha
Similarly, two minor brothers were found dead in the Nayagarh district of Odisha on Monday, following which it was claimed that their father killed them as they were opposed to his remarriage.
The incident occurred in the Fatehgarh police station area of the district. Out of two, one of the deceased boys was 14 years old, while the other was 11 years old. Alleging over the death, their maternal uncle claimed that "the children were murdered as they opposed the remarriage of their father".
"Why will the innocent boys die by suicide? The two boys were first murdered, and then their bodies were hanged to show it as suicide. Their father killed them to clear the path for a second marriage," he alleged, news agency PTI reported.
The boys lost their mother three years ago, and according to local reports, their father had been preparing to remarry. "The children were strongly against the remarriage," police said, citing a complaint filed by the deceased children's maternal grandmother.
Their grandfather also confirmed that while the boys were against their father’s decision, they ultimately took their own lives. The police have detained the father and launched an investigation into the incident.
"The two boys were in class 4 and 9. The exact reason for their deaths can be ascertained after receiving the post-mortem reports," said Superintendent of Police S Susree.
