Man Posing As Ajmal Kasab's 'Brother' Arrested For Threat Call To Mumbai Police
The police traced the mobile number and subsequently registered an FIR at the Mulund police station. Investigators tracked down the suspect and arrested him on Wednesday.

A Mulund-based man in Mumbai was arrested on Wednesday for reportedly making a threat call to the police control room. The police informed that the caller appears to be mentally ill and he was upset with the police.
Explaining the incident, an officer stated that the Mumbai police control room received a call from a mobile number around 1 am on Tuesday. The caller began abusing the Mumbai police and threatened to blow up the police headquarters. He also claimed on the phone that he is the brother of “aatanki Kasab”, referring to Ajmal Amir Kasab, the 26/11 terror attack convict who was hanged. “Kasab ka bhai bol raha hoon,” he stated and hung up.
The police traced the mobile number to Mulund and subsequently registered an FIR at the Mulund police station. Investigators tracked down the suspect and arrested him on Wednesday.
During initial questioning, the man revealed that he was mentally distressed due to family problems and had made the threat call out of frustration.
Samajwadi Party Leader Gets Threat Call From Bishnoi Gang
Similarly, Tariq Khan, Samajwadi Party's national spokesperson, has reportedly received a threatening call from an unknown person claiming to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In response, the police have initiated an investigation.
Talking to PTI, Khan said on Sunday (March 30), "For the past two months, I have been receiving abusive and threatening calls, which I ignored. However, on Friday night, a caller not only hurled abuses but also claimed to be speaking on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Considering the gravity of the threat, I immediately informed Superintendent of Police and Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav. Now, the audio of that conversation has surfaced on social media."
Khan added, "I have informed the police that this might be a hoax, but it is essential to identify and apprehend the caller. I have provided the police with recordings of the recent conversation along with previous instances." The party's national president, Akhilesh Yadav, who has been briefed on the situation, has called Khan to Lucknow on Tuesday. If deemed necessary, Yadav might escalate the matter to the Director General of Police.
