Rajasthan: 1 Dead, 2 Injured As Part Of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Tunnel Collapses In Kota
A worker died and two were injured in a tunnel collapse in Kota, Rajasthan.
A worker died and two other people were injured after a section of an under-construction tunnel collapsed in the Kota district of Rajasthan, said the police on Sunday.
The tunnel is a part of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, said Superintendent of Police, Kota Rural, Sujit Shankar, reported PTI. A portion of the tunnel collapsed on Saturday night in the Modak area of Ramganj Mandi, said the police official.
The workers were working when the tunnel was rescued and rushed to a hospital where Shamsher Singh (33) was pronounced dead.
The injured are undergoing treatment, the Kota SP said.
Police and officials of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) reached the spot after the incident. A probe into the cause of the collapse of the tunnel is underway.
