Jhansi: Dhirendra Shastri Responds To Reports Of Attack On Him After Video Shows Mobile Phone Hitting His Face

Jhansi News: Bageshwar Dham chief Dhirendra Krishna Shastri denies reports of an alleged attack during the "Sanatan Hindu Ekta" Padyatra, clarifying that a mobile phone accidentally dropped by a devotee.

Jhansi News: Bageshwar Dham's Peethadheeshwar Dhirendra Krishna Shastri has dismissed reports of an alleged attack on him during the 'Sanatan Hindu Ekta' Padyatra in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. Clarifying the incident, he stated that no attack occurred and attributed the reports to a misunderstanding.  

Responding to media queries about the alleged attack, Shastri told news agency ANI, "There was no attack. A devotee who was showering flowers dropped the mobile phone mistakenly. It was not an attack. We are conducting this yatra peacefully."  

Shastri reiterated that the yatra is proceeding without any disturbances. "There has been no attack. The journey is progressing peacefully. It is neither in favour of nor against anyone. Someone was throwing flowers, and the mobile phone was also thrown mistakenly. These things happen. But there was no attack," he said.  

A video of the incident was widely shared on social media showing the moment when a mobile phone hit Shastri's face. "Someone has thrown a mobile at me, I have it with me. Someone has thrown a mobile at me along with flowers," he is seen remarking.

Dhirendra Krishna Shastri's 'Sanatan Hindu Ekta' Padayatra

The nine-day 'Sanatan Hindu Ekta' padayatra, which began on Thursday, aims to promote the awakening of Sanatan Dharma, eradicate caste discrimination, untouchability, and divisions between forward and backward classes, fostering social unity. The 160-kilometre journey commenced from Bageshwar Dham and is scheduled to conclude at Orchha Dham on 29 November.  

The padayatra includes several halts along its route and has witnessed participation from thousands of devotees from various parts of the country. On the first day, participants sang devotional hymns as they marched, transforming the areas along the route.  

The yatra traverses parts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, culminating at Orchha Dham.
