Missing Hungarian Tourist's Dead Body Found In Meghalaya: Report

A Hungarian tourist's body was found decomposed in Meghalaya after he went missing on March 29.

The body of a tourist from Hungary, who went missing on March 29, was found in a decomposed state in Meghalaya's Cherapunji, reported NDTV quoting police sources. The state police had launched a search-and-rescue operation after Zsolt Puskas went missing.

The Hungarian Embassy alerted the local police after Puskas went missing for almost four days. Following this, the police launched a search operation along with Home Guards, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local volunteers.

The tourist's body was found in a partially decomposed state in a remote steep-sloped area,  in Cherapunji's Ramdait village, along the route to Tyrna in Shella. As per the report, it is suspected that the tourist had a possible accidental fall.

A probe revealed that Puskas had checked into a hotel in Laitumkhrah on March 29 at 3:45 AM and checked out hours later at 9:00 AM. He took a local taxi and reached Mawsahew, near Sohra, by noon.

His movement was captured on CCTV camera.

After getting out of the taxi, Puskas reportedly started a solo trek toward Mawkawir, with plans to reach Nongriat. He just had a backpack and almost three weeks later, his body was found in the jungles of Ramdait village.
