'Racist Nightclub In Goa': Foreigners Allege Bias Against Indians, Post Sparks Reactions

A viral Instagram post by two Scottish men highlights alleged racial bias in an Indian nightclub, where foreigners were admitted without queuing while locals had to wait outside.

A viral Instagram post by two men from Scotland has sparked discussion over racism against Indians in India. Robin Alderslowe and Ryan Williams shared a video on their Instagram account showing foreigners getting entry into a nightclub in Goa while Indians waited in a queue.

"Racist Nightclub in Goa," wrote Alderslowe, a bagpiper and filmmaker from Scotland. His friend Ryan Williams was also tagged in the post who, according to his Instagram bio has a Scottish-Korean background.

The video showed the two men being allowed into the club without being stopped anywhere while locals waited in a queue outside the venue.

"They let us in for free because we're foreigners," said Williams in the video, adding: "But then they (the locals) have to all wait."

Later in the post, Alderslowe, dressed in a traditional Scottish outfit, was seen playing the bagpipe inside the club.

The video garnered the attention of the netizens quickly sparking a discussion on the social media site. Some users condemned the alleged racism, others tried to explain for what they believed caused the incident.

"Is there anywhere in the world where people discriminate against their own countrymen. Or is it only India," said one user.  "Asians love treating foreigners better than locals," said another.

However, some defended the move. "As a Goan I can say that we treat foreigners differently is purely based on behaviour. Indian feel entitled when they spend a little extra money. Think they can do whatever they want," said one user.

"It's really sad that this problem isn't just limited to India, but happens in other places too. A few bad apples are giving the many, respectful Indians a bad name," wrote another.

You have no idea how many local ppl they have killed by drunk reckless driving. We absolutely don't want them.
