Internet Suspended In Ambala Again Ahead Of Farmers' Protest March Along Shambhu Border

Internet services have been suspended in parts of Ambala, Haryana, as farmers prepare for a second march to Delhi

Internet services have been suspended once again in parts of Ambala, Haryana as protesting farmers seek to march for a second time to Delhi from the Punjab-Haryana border to press the Centre into accepting their demands. The internet will remain suspended till December 17 in villages under Ambala jurisdiction including Dangdehri, Lohgarh, Manakpur, Dadiana, Badi Ghel, Chhoti Ghel, Laharsa, Kalu Majra, Devi Nagar (Hira Nagar, Naresh Vihar), Saddopur, Sultanpur and Kakru.

A group of 101 farmers under the banner of Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha will make another attempt to march on foot to Delhi from the Shambhu border on Saturday afternoon, said farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher.

The farmers have been camping at Shambhu and Khanari border points since February 13 after their march was stopped by the security forces. On December 6 and 8, a group of farmers made two attempts to enter Delhi on foot.

They were again stopped by security personnel in Haryana. The jatha of 101 farmers will march on foot on Saturday in a peaceful manner, Pandher said. He also called on the government to hold talks with the farmers before their stir intensifies.

Referring to the past two occasions when the farmers were stopped and asked to seek permission from the Delhi administration before going there, Pandher said the government should tell how 101 farmers on foot can pose a threat.
