Mercury Soars Up In Delhi, May Hit 40 °C In Coming Days; AQI Remains Moderate

Delhi residents experienced clear skies and pleasant weather on Sunday, with temperatures ranging from 16 to 34 degrees Celsius. The week ahead is expected to bring warmer temperatures.

Delhiites on Sunday woke up to clear skies and pleasant weather.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature for the day is expected to be around 34 degrees Celsius while the minumum temperature will be around 16 degrees Celsius.

As per the weather bureau, the maximum temperature is expected to rise over the coming week. During the next five days, the minimum temperature in Delhi-NCR is expected to be between 16 to 20 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is expected to be between 32 to 38 degrees Celsius. Strong winds are also expected in Delhi on March 27 and 28.

As per their forecast, the maximum and minimum temperatures for March 24 will be around 34-36 degrees Celsius and 16-18 degrees Celsius respectively. For March 25, the maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 35-38 degrees Celsius and 16-18 degrees Celsius respectively.

However, the maximum and minimum temperatures for March 26 will be 36-38 degrees Celsius and 17-19 degrees Celsius respectively.

While the maximum and the minumum temperatures on March 27 is expected to be around 35-37 degrees Celsius and 18-20 degrees Celsius respectively, the same for March 28 would be 34-36 degrees Celsius and 18-20 degrees Celsius respectively.

The maximum temperature in Delhi on Saturday was recorded at 31.7 degrees Celsius, which is 0.2 degrees higher than the average temperature of this season. According to the IMD, the minimum temperature was recorded at 16.7 degrees Celsius, which is 0.6 degrees less than the average temperature of this season. The humidity level remained between 58 percent and 30 percent throughout the day on Saturday.

Relief From Pollution

According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the city's Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 161 at 4 pm, which falls in the 'moderate' category. AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51-100 'satisfactory', 101-200 'moderate', 201-300 'bad', 301-400 'very bad' and 401-500 'severe'.
