Delhi Govt Set To Introduce AC Buses Connecting Noida International Airport. Check Route & Other Details

The AC buses will be operated from Delhi and move towards Noida International Airport, covering around 80 to 85 kilometres.

The Delhi government is set to introduce electric bus service connecting the national capital to the upcoming Noida International Airport.

The initiative will be launched as a pilot project, aiming to benefit thousands of travellers to reach the upcoming airport in Gautam Buddha Nagar.

Delhi Transport Minister Pankaj Singh, confirmed the development, said that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) will be signed between the Delhi and Uttar Pradesh governments to facilitate the service.

Strengthening Public Transport

Singh said that ever since the BJP government has been found in the national capital, there has been a concerted effort to strengthen public transport.

The government, with the initiative, aims to encourage more people to use buses, giving a luxury travel experience to passengers, which will in turn result in lowering the traffic in both cities.

The transport minister also suggested that there will be significant upcoming changes in Delhi's public transport system.

Three Key Pick-Up Points Identified

As per the government details available, the AC buses will be operated from Delhi and move towards Noida International Airport, covering around 80 to 85 kilometres.

Three locations in Delhi have been designated as starting points for the electric bus service to Jewar Airport. These include:

- Sarai Rohilla Bus Terminal

- Anand Vihar Bus Terminal

- Kamla Market (Ajmeri Gate)

The buses from these locations will travel directly to the Jewar Airport, with the government currently finalising the roadmap for smooth implementation.

Affordable and Comfortable Travel for Passengers

While the passengers travelling to Jewar Airport had to rely on taxis or private vehicles, the new initiative offers a comfortable and affordable ride to the Noida airport.

Moreover, the women travelling on the route will not have to pay a single penny as it will fall under the pink passes scheme.

Noida International Airport First Phase To Be Completed By May 2025

The Noida International Airport, set to become India's largest airport, is expected to complete its first phase by May 2025.

Once operational, the airport will offer international flight connectivity, benefiting residents of Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and neighbouring states.

Moreover, the buses is set to be equipped with cutting-edge technology and include a wide list of features such as fully air-conditioned cabin, GPS-enabled tracking system, CCTV camera, live monitoring, among others.
