UP News: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath added a sporty twist to the inauguration of the 36th All India Advocate Cricket Tournament in Lucknow on Saturday by taking part in a cricket match himself. A video from the event has surfaced online, showcasing the CM wielding a bat and displaying his cricketing skills on the field, much to the excitement of the crowd.
Speaking at the event, CM Yogi highlighted the importance of sports in fostering team spirit and resilience, which he said are essential for success in both personal and public life. "Sports inspire all of us to work with a team spirit, whether it is in our family life or public life. If we have the ability to work as a team, our chances of success increase significantly," said the Chief Minister.
He also stressed how sports provide a source of inspiration in difficult situations, teaching individuals to tackle challenges with collective effort and determination.

In a social media post about the event, CM Yogi emphasised the growing importance of sports. He wrote: "Today, I attended the inauguration of the 36th All India Advocate Cricket Tournament in Lucknow. Over the past 10 years, under the guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi, sports activities in the country have expanded. Initiatives like 'Khelo India' and the 'Fit India Movement' have played a vital role in promoting sports and physical fitness."

The CM also used the platform to reaffirm his government's commitment to the welfare of advocates. He noted that the state government has taken several steps to support legal professionals, including increasing the Advocate Welfare Fund. CM Yogi announced that the compensation provided in case of an advocate's accidental death has been raised from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.
The All India Advocate Cricket Tournament is a yearly event aimed at promoting camaraderie and fitness among advocates from across the country.
