Clothes Stolen From Women's Graves In Jaipur Cemetery, CCTV Clip Being Probed

Over the past few days, locals have observed that only the graves of women have been tampered with, and the white burial shrouds used in traditional Islamic funerals have gone missing.

Jaipur: A bizarre and deeply unsettling case has emerged from Jaipur, where shrouds (kafan) are allegedly being stolen from the graves of women buried in a local cemetery. The incidents have been reported from the Nahari Ka Naka graveyard in the pink city's Shastri Nagar area.

Over the past few days, locals have observed that only the graves of women have been tampered with, and the white burial shrouds used in traditional Islamic funerals have gone missing. In some cases, signs of tampering with the graves themselves have also been reported.

The shocking nature of the thefts has triggered both alarm and outrage in the community.

CCTV Footage Reveals Suspicious Activity

CCTV footage recovered from the area reportedly shows four to five individuals moving suspiciously around graves at night. The footage is now part of the investigation.

Local residents fear that the pattern of targeting women’s graves suggests the thefts may not be random but deliberate and possibly ritualistic in nature.

The incident has sparked anger among residents. Congress MLA Amin Kagzi, along with local leaders and concerned citizens, visited the graveyard to take stock of the situation.

On Tuesday evening (July 1), police officials from Shastri Nagar police station also inspected the site. A formal FIR has been registered, and an investigation is underway.

The fact that only women’s graves appear to be targeted has become a key point of concern in the community. Authorities have not ruled out any angles, including mischief, superstition, or illegal trade.

Police are reviewing the CCTV footage and questioning locals in hopes of identifying the culprits behind this disturbing series of events.
