A Class 9 student was allegedly raped inside her home by four teenage boys, three of whom were known to her from school. The incident took place on Sunday morning in a residential society while the girl was alone at home, officials confirmed on Wednesday.

According to police, the girl had been in touch with one of the accused via Instagram. The boy reportedly messaged her to meet and arrived at her house around 11:30 am on Sunday when the girl's mother had stepped out to the market.

When she opened the door, the boy allegedly entered along with three others. All four then reportedly forced their way into her room and took turns assaulting her, a police official told PTI.

Mother's Timely Return Interrupted Assault

The girl’s mother returned home shortly after and found the door ajar. Upon entering, she saw the boys with her daughter. She immediately removed her daughter from the room and locked the boys inside before alerting the police.

However, before the police could arrive, some office-bearers of the housing society allegedly intervened and allowed the boys to leave the premises, according to officials.

The girl's father has lodged an FIR against the four boys, ACP (Kavinagar) Bhaskar Verma told PTI. 

"They all are studying in class 11, 10 and 9. The girl was sent for medical examination. The girl's statement is not yet recorded and culprits have not been arrested. Police is probing the case," the ACP said.

He added that an investigation into the case is underway to ascertain facts and information.
