Viral Video Shows Group Of Men Chasing Women Inside Car In Chennai; Cops Book Case
A group of women were chased and harassed by men in two cars in Chennai and a video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

A video of a group of women inside a car in Chennai allegedly being chased and harassed by men in two cars has gone viral on social. In the video, one of the two vehicles bore a flag with ensigns similar to that of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party.
The incident took place on the night of January 25 along the East Coast Road in the city's Kanathur area, according to NDTV.
The women were returning home to Muttukadu by car when an SUV stopped in front of them. A man wearing black clothes got out of the SUV and ran towards the women's car and banged the window pane as the women screamed in fear.
As they tried to speed ahead, the SUV blocked their way. The woman driving the car hurriedly reversed the car and changed the route but after moving for some distance, they were chased again before the video ended.

The video of the incident has gone viral on social media sparking widespread outrage.
A case has been registered by the Kanathur police against the youths for mischief, criminal intimidation, and wrongful restraint, and the cops are searching for them, reported The Times of India.
In a complaint by a 32-year-old woman, she said initially they were not aware that a group of eight youths in two cars were chasing them. However, the men made loud noises which made the woman and other occupants of the car suspicious.
According to the TOI report, the woman said that the man who ran towards their car alleged that her car had hit his vehicle. However, the woman denied the allegation.

Police are gathering CCTV footage to piece together the sequence of events and Tambaram city police said special teams are loation the suspects.
The incident triggered a political backlash with BJP slamming Chief Minister MK Stalin. In a post on X, BJP leader SG Suryah wrote: "A group of thugs in a car with a DMK flag are chasing women in the middle of the road. CM MK Stalin, who has sold his iron fist for dates, is this the beauty of your regime's law and order maintenance? Can we commit any violence if we have the DMK flag?"
