Nitish Kumar Clears Bihar Airport Development Project Proposals In THESE Districts
Bihar Cabinet has cleared 20 proposals, including those of Patna Metro land transfer, teacher recruitment, airport development, 5-star hotels in Patna, and new MSP scheme for pulses and oilseeds.

At a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday, June 17, the Bihar government approved 20 major proposals across education, infrastructure, and industry. Key approvals include the green light for new recruitment rules in the Education Department, paving the way for the appointment of Information Officers, Librarians, and Primary Resource Teachers (PRTs) in secondary and higher secondary schools across the state.
The approvals come at a time when the state is gearing up for the assembly elections to be held in a few months. With the clearance fort the proposals, the Nitish Kumar government hopes to have a favourable verdict in the polls.
Patna Metro, Airports, And Industrial Expansion
The Cabinet also approved the transfer of land worth ₹10.49 crore for the construction of metro stations under the Patna Metro project. Additionally, the development of six regional airports under the UDAN scheme was sanctioned. The airports will be developed in Madhubani, Veerpur, Munger, Valmikinagar, Muzaffarpur, and Saharsa.
In Nawada, 70.05 acres of land have been allocated to the Industry Department for developing a new industrial area.
Schemes For Agriculture, Defence Veterans, And Sports Reforms
The services of 1,717 retired Indian Army personnel working in Bihar Police’s Special Auxiliary Force (SAF) have been extended for another year (2025-26). To boost farmer income, the state will begin procurement of pulses and oilseeds at Minimum Support Price (MSP) from 2025-26.
A new law has been passed concerning the recruitment and service rules of coaches at the International Cricket Stadium and State Sports Academy in Rajgir.
PPP Hotel Project and Drought Relief Measures
The Cabinet also approved a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model project to build a five-star hotel on the premises of Hotel Pataliputra Ashok in Patna.
To mitigate the impact of drought, ₹2.58 crore has been approved for a groundwater recharge study of five key rivers—Son, Gandak, Kosi, Morhar, and Punpun.
