Hidden Camera Found In Bhopal MRI Centre Changing Room, Employees Detained

A woman who visited an MRI Centre found a hidden camera in the changing room in Bhopal’s Malviya Nagar in Madhya Pradesh. Upon discovering the camera hidden on the false ceiling of the changing room, she quickly informed her husband who retrieved the mobile phone and confronted the staff at the pathology centre.

It was soon discovered that the mobile phone belonged to an employee, who, along with others in the MRI centre were allegedly recording videos of women in the changing room. The woman and her husband reported the incident to the Arera Hills police station, prompting swift action from the authorities. They identified Vishal Thakur, as the owner of the phone, as per India Today.

According to NDTV, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sanjay Agarwal said that several videos were found on the mobile phone including a 27-minute-long clip of the woman. The police also found a video of another woman. Authorities sealed the changing room and detained the accused. The mobile phone has been sent for forensic analysis to see if there are any more videos.

Thakur has been arrested under Section 77 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) for secretly watching or spying on a woman and capturing photos or videos of her private acts without consent, according to India Today.

The police are now investigating the matter and are also questioning other employees at the centre, to know how long this misconduct has been going on. The discovery has sparked concerns about privacy and security measures at medical facilities in Bhopal, according to NDTV.

The family of the couple was reportedly outraged and created a commotion at the MRI centre, but the police intervened and brought the situation under control.
