Bhopal's 'Looteri Dulhan' Has 25 Husbands And She Scammed A 'Gabbar'

23-year-old Anuradha Paswan, now dubbed Bhopal’s ‘Looteri Dulhan’ had parted ways with her husband after a domestic dispute and joined a gang specialising in marriage scams.

When a man named Gabbar from Bhopal married, he thought he was tying the knot with the woman of his dreams. But barely days after the wedding, his bride vanished — along with Rs 2 lakh in cash. It was only later that he would discover the shocking truth: he was husband number 25. The woman at the centre of this elaborate con is 23-year-old Anuradha Paswan, now dubbed Bhopal’s ‘Looteri Dulhan’ (Looting Bride).

Rajasthan Police arrested her from Bhopal after an undercover operation led by the Sawai Madhopur police, The Tribune reported.

Her scam unravelled when another victim, Vishnu Sharma, approached the Sawai Madhopur police with a complaint. Sharma said he had paid Rs 2 lakh to a marriage broker named Pappu Meena to find a bride. Anuradha married him on April 20. But by May 2, she had disappeared, taking with her jewellery worth Rs 1.25 lakh, Rs 30,000 in cash, and a mobile phone worth another Rs 30,000.

Based on Sharma’s complaint filed on May 3, police launched a probe that exposed a well-organised fake marriage racket operating across states.

Looteri Dulhan’s Foray Into Marriage Scams

According to investigating officer Meetha Lal, Anuradha had previously worked in a hospital in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, and had parted ways with her husband after a domestic dispute, The Tribune reported. She later moved to Bhopal, where she allegedly joined a gang specialising in marriage scams. Their modus operandi involved luring grooms through platforms like WhatsApp and extorting amounts ranging between Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh per “match”.

Her downfall came when police sent an undercover officer posing as a prospective groom. Once her photograph was circulated by one of the agents, police closed in and arrested her, as per the Tribune's report.

Other members of the gang—identified as Roshni, Raghubir, Golu, Majboot Singh Yadav and Arjan—are also under the scanner. All are suspected to be part of the same syndicate operating out of Bhopal, targeting vulnerable men looking to get married quickly.
