The main hotspots in the city that have been identified include, MG Road-Brigade Road junction, Koramangala, Indira Nagar, JP Nagar, and Whitefield.

"Bengaluru City Police has made tight security arrangements for New Year celebrations in all parts of the city, wherever such events are scheduled and large number of people are likely to gather. The commissioner has urged people of the city to refarin from using noise-making devices such as whistles, which can cause disruption and irritation and allow people to engage in inappropriate behaviour. The police has also asked people to not wear facemasks during celebrations in public as they can be intimidating, especially for children, PTI reported.

Additionally, facemasks, which can be intimidating in crowded places, especially around families and children, should be avoided, as they conceal a person's identity," he said.
