'RIP': Bengaluru Jobseeker’s Viral LinkedIn ‘Obituary’ Post After 3 Years Of Unemployment Gains Massive Support
In his candid post, Prashanth expressed frustration over being ignored by recruiters despite investing in self-improvement.

A heartfelt LinkedIn post by Bengaluru-based jobseeker Prashanth Haridas has gone viral, drawing widespread support after he shared his struggles with nearly three years of unemployment and isolation. Several social media users immediately responded to the post after he posted an image of himself with "RIP" written across it.
'Thank You For Ghosting Me'
In his candid post, Prashanth expressed frustration over being ignored by recruiters despite investing in self-improvement. "Thank you, #LinkedIn, for everything. Thank you, industry leaders, for #Ghosting and ignoring me. Thank you for making me spend money on self-grooming so you can ghost me. Apologies for my posts and ranting. I know with this post none will hire me, no matter how good I'm or the recommendations received," he said.
"Chandini BS, Chanu, apologize if I hurt you; I really tried everything and begged, so I could be with you, couldn't get a job. I'm sorry. P.S.: I'm not gonna kill myself. Have a lot of things to do, cuisines to taste and places to visit. Just dead, trying to get a job, fix things, and be with the love of my life. Being unemployed for close to 3 years and being isolated is very hard," he added.
He also addressed personal struggles, mentioning individuals by name and apologising for any unintended hurt. Despite the post’s somber tone, he made it clear that he had no intention of self-harm. P.S.: I'm not gonna kill myself. Have a lot of things to do, cuisines to taste and places to visit. Just dead, trying to get a job, fix things, and be with the love of my life. Being unemployed for close to 3 years and being isolated is very hard," he said.
Many pointed out the sad irony that his desperate appeal received far more attention than his previous job-seeking posts.
Prashanth’s experience has once again highlighted the struggles faced by jobseekers, sparking discussions on mental health, professional networking, and the emotional toll of prolonged unemployment.
