Agra: Man Consumes Mosquito Repellent After Breakup, Shares Video Online

A man in Agra allegedly consumed a mosquito repellent to end his life after a breakup with his girlfriend. The man posted a video of the act on social media following which the local police immediately rushed to the spot and saved him.

As per a Navbharat Times report, constables Durgashankar and Manoj Kumar rushed to his home at 3.30 AM. First, police knocked on the door but they got no response. The police then forcibly broke down the door and found the man in a semi-conscious state. He was immediately taken to hospital where he is receiving treatment.

In the video posted on social media, the man was seen consuming the chemical. He continued having it despite feeling uneasy. The man had been battling depression after the breakup, the report added. The police confirmed that the young man had ingested a mosquito-repellent chemical in his attempt to commit suicide.

Investigation into the case revealed that the man had been living in a rented house in Sati Nagar Naraich in the Trans Yamuna Colony area to prepare for competitive exams. He recently had a conflict with his girlfriend, leading to their breakup. On Friday, he consumed the toxic chemical to end his life.
