3 Dead, 2 Injured After Bus Returning From Maha Kumbh Rams Into Truck On Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
The pilgrims were returning to Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur after attending the Maha Kumbh in Uttar Pradesh’s Paryagraj.

As many as three people, including husband and wife were killed and two others were injured after a bus carrying 57 Maha Kumbh pilgrims rammed into a truck on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway on Thursday in Rajasthan's Kota district, police said.
The pilgrims were returning to Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur after attending the Maha Kumbh in Uttar Pradesh’s Paryagraj.
The incident took place at around 6:30 AM when the bus rammed into a truck which was parked on the side of the road near Karodia village in Kota, Assistant Sub-Inspector Hariraj Singh told news agency PTI.
The deceased include an MP native Kishorilal aged 60, his wife Kailashibai (54), and another man named Ashok, who died on the spot. Two other passengers Chamanlal and Parvati sustained injuries, while other passengers were safe. The injured are undergoing treatment at Kota’s MBS hospital.
The ASI said that the accident happened after the driver dozed off while driving. He then fled from the scene after the mishap. The bodies of the victims have been sent for post-mortem.
3 Killed, Dozens Injured As Buses Returning From Maha Kumbh Collide In Mathura
At least three persons were killed and more than two dozen passengers were injured on Tuesday after a double-decker bus returning from the Maha Kumbh collided with another stationary bus on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura. The stationary bus was also carrying pilgrims from the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.
The injured were taken to hospital for treatment. Two passengers standing outside the stationary bus were crushed and died on the spot, while another succumbed to injuries during treatment.
Senior Superintendent of Police Shailesh Kumar Pandey told PTI that the accident took place when a bus returning from the Kumbh developed a technical snag on the expressway.
The driver had parked the bus on the roadside and sent someone to fetch spare parts. Meanwhile, another double-decker bus returning from Prayagraj rammed into the stationary bus while it was trying to overtake a car.
The impact was so severe that heads of the passengers in the parked bus hit against the roof and also bumped into each other with force.
