The Naxalite, Rupesh Mandavi alias Sukhdev, turned himself in before the police on Tuesday, citing disillusionment with the hollow and inhuman Maoist ideology and rising differences within the Naxalite outfit, news agency PTI reported citing an official.

Sukhdev had joined the Naxalite movement in 2012 and was an active Kotari Area Committee member. He was also the Local Organisation Squad deputy commander under the Rajnandgaon-Kanker Border division of the outlawed Maoist movement.

Police said that Sukhde was provided an assistance of Rs 50,000 and will be further rehabilitated as per the government's policy, PTI reported.
