2 Dead, 16 Injured In Fire Incidents In Gujarat, Maharashtra
Three major fires broke out in Surat, Bhugaon, Patna, and Ludhiana on October 6 evening.
A fire at a commercial establishment in Gujarat's Surat claimed 3 lives on Wednesday night. Another fire at a factory in Maharashtra's Bhugaon injured 16 people, with two of them being hospitalised in critical condition. In yet another incident of fire, a two-storey commercial building in Punjab's Ludhiana was gutted. No casualty was reported in this incident.
Surat Fire Claims 2 Lives
A fire broke out on Wednesday evening at the Amrutaya Spa & Gym in Surat's Citylight area, resulting in the deaths of two employees. The spa was operational when the fire erupted, while the gym on the same floor was closed. Authorities suspect an electrical short circuit caused the fire.
Divisional Fire Officer Harish Gadhvi said, "The gym and a saloon are on the same floor. The gym was closed due to Diwali and 5 people were working in the saloon. Three people managed to escape, but the other two couldn't escape. The deceased, both women, were from the Northeast. The three survivors will be questioned."

The two deceased women were aged between 25 and 27 years.
Surat Mayor Daxesh Kishorbhai Mavani said efforts were on to identify if there was any negligence. A forensic team has been called, and those who escaped will also be questioned as part of the investigation into the fire’s cause.
16 Injured In Wardha Fire
A fire erupted at the Bhugaon Steel Company in Maharashtra's Wardha district on Wednesday, resulting in injuries to 16 workers. All injured individuals have been taken to a hospital, where one of them is reported to be in a critical state.
Emergency services quickly responded to the incident, and the fire was successfully contained. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the incident.
"Sixteen workers sustained injuries after a fire broke out at Bhugaon Steel Company. All affected workers have been admitted for medical care, and one remains in critical condition. The situation is now under control, and an inquiry into the incident is underway," Wardha District Collector Rahul Kardile, was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Fire At Ludhiana Building
In the Punjab fire incident, a fire ignited in a two-story building on Basant Street near Noorwala Road in Ludhiana, as reported by fire department officials. The blaze started around 7 PM on the second floor near a clothing shop, and a nearby vehicle also suffered damage due to the flames.
Assistant Divisional Fire Officer Maninder Singh shared that the fire was approximately 90% contained, though concerns remained over stock safety and fire protection measures.

Fire At Patna Scrap Yard
In yet another incident, a fire broke out at a scrap shop in AG Colony, Patna, Bihar. Firefighters and at least 10 fire engines had to be rushed to the spot to douse the blaze. Power to the area had to be snapped to ensure that no further damage was caused.
The AG Colony fire broke out at 7.30 PM, just hours after another blaze engulfed the capital city's Patrakar Nagar Police Station. At least 12 fire engines were rushed to the spot in the afternoon to rescue around 30 people trapped in the building.
No casualty was reported in either of the incidents.
