Reliance Industries Reports Strong Q4 Results, Boosted By Retail And Digital Growth

Revenue for the quarter ended March 31 rose 8.8 per cent year-on-year to Rs 2.88 lakh crore, driven primarily by continued expansion in the digital services, retail, and oil-to-chemicals segments

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) delivered a robust performance in the fourth quarter of FY25, with solid gains in its digital and retail businesses helping to cushion the impact of softer results in its traditional energy segment. The conglomerate reported a 6.4 per cent year-on-year increase in net profit before minority interest, reflecting the strength of its diversified portfolio. Net profit attributable to shareholders rose 2.4 per cent to Rs 19,407 crore, surpassing analysts’ expectations.

Revenue for the quarter ended March 31 rose 8.8 per cent year-on-year to Rs 2.88 lakh crore, driven primarily by continued expansion in the digital services, retail, and oil-to-chemicals (O2C) segments. The company’s consolidated EBITDA also reached a new high of Rs 48,737 crore, marking a 3.6 per cent increase over the same period last year.

RIL’s pre-minority net profit climbed to Rs 22,611 crore, while profit before tax rose 5 per cent to Rs 29,103 crore. The group’s quarterly capital expenditure stood at Rs 36,041 crore but remained fully supported by strong operating cash flows of nearly Rs 40,000 crore. This ensured that the company’s net debt stayed largely unchanged at Rs 1.17 lakh crore.

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director, Reliance Industries Limited, said: “FY2025 has been a challenging year for the global business environment, with weak macro-economic conditions and a shifting geo-political landscape. Our focus on operational discipline, customer-centric innovation and fulfilling India’s growth requirements has helped Reliance deliver a steady financial performance during the year."

EBITDA

EBITDA from Reliance's digital services segment jumped 18.5 per cent, driven by rapid growth in its 5G user base, which expanded to approximately 191 million. The increase also reflected a rise in average revenue per user (ARPU) to ₹206.2, following recent tariff adjustments. Meanwhile, the retail segment posted a 14.3 per cent increase in EBITDA, supported by improved store-level performance and a 2.4x quarter-on-quarter surge in its hyper-local delivery business.

"In FY25, the business focused on a strategic recalibration of our store network, aimed at improving operational efficiencies and long-term sustainability. Our enhanced product catalogue and user experience across all formats, strengthened customer engagement. The quick hyperlocal deliveries initiative has also gained significant traction in the market, connecting strongly with the users. Our suite of omni-channel offerings and wide-spread presence will enable Reliance Retail to continue delivering superior value to all its customers," Ambani added.
