Hurun India’s Top Self-Made Entrepreneurs: IDFC FIRST Private Banking and Hurun India have released the second edition of the "IDFC FIRST Private & Hurun India’s Top 200 Self-Made Entrepreneurs of the Millennium 2024" list. Radhakishan Damani, founder of Avenue Supermarts (DMart), topped the list with a valuation surpassing Rs 3.4 lakh crore, marking an impressive 44 per cent growth.

The list honours entrepreneurs whose companies, established after 2000, have significantly reshaped India’s business landscape.

Vikas Sharma, Head of Wealth Management and Private Banking at IDFC FIRST Bank, highlighted the importance of the report in recognising the accomplishments of India’s visionary entrepreneurs. "These business leaders embody resilience, innovation, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. Through this publication, we celebrate their achievements and reaffirm our commitment to fostering the entrepreneurial spirit driving India’s growth story," he said.

Here is the list of top 10 names:

  1. Radhakishan Damani (Avenue Supermarts-DMart)
  2. Deepinder Goyal (Zomato)
  3. Sriharsha Majety & Nandan Reddy (Swiggy) 
  4. Deep Kalra & Rajesh Magow (Makemytrip)
  5. Abhay Soi (Max Healthcare Institute)
  6. Yashish Dahiya & Alok Bansal (Policy Bazaar)
  7. Bhavit Sheth & Harsh Jain (Dream11)
  8. Nithin Kamath & Nikhil Kamath (Zerodha)
  9. Harshil Mathur & Shashank Kumar (Razorpay)
  10. Falguni Nayar (Nykaa)

According to the report, 56 new founders and 32 companies have been added to India’s Top 200 Self-Made Entrepreneurs of the Millennium 2024 list. This year also saw 32 dropouts. The number of billion-dollar companies founded by self-made entrepreneurs has risen by 15 per cent, with a total of 121 such companies now featured on the list. Furthermore, three individuals on the list are valued at INR 1 lakh crore or more, up from two individuals last year.

This year’s list underscores India’s entrepreneurial strength, featuring individuals who have revolutionised industries, introduced disruptive solutions and significantly contributed to the country’s economic progress. The entry threshold for the IDFC First Private & Hurun India’s Top 200 Self-Made Entrepreneurs of the Millennium 2024 list has risen by 13 per cent to Rs 3,400 crore.
