Under this scheme, there will be a total of 810 lucky draws held every month. Within these monthly draws, there will be 800 lucky draws for GST invoices, each with a prize value of Rs 10,000

Mera Bill Mera Adhikar, the GST lucky draw scheme to encourage people to ask for GST bills, was launched on Friday. The scheme offers cash rewards of up to Rs 1 crore. It is being launched in six states and UTs on a pilot basis, including Assam, Gujarat, Haryana, and the UTs of Puducherry, Dadra Nagar Haveli, and Daman & Diu.

The Centre and states have set aside a Rs 30-crore corpus for this fiscal for the reward scheme, as per a PTI report. Under this scheme, there will be a total of 810 lucky draws held every month. Within these monthly draws, there will be 800 lucky draws for GST invoices, each with a prize value of Rs 10,000, and an additional 10 draws with prizes worth Rs 10 lakh each. Furthermore, on a quarterly basis, there will be two bumper draws, each with a prize of Rs 1 crore, the report said.

During the launch event, Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra said, "GST has benefitted citizens, customers and governments. Revenues are increasing every month and Centre and states have come together to ensure that tax rates comes down under GST."

He said that against the 15 per cent revenue-neutral rate as envisioned before the GST launch, the average GST rate today is 12 per cent. The average GST collection every month this fiscal has been Rs 1.60 lakh crore.

"People should know that GST invoice is their right, it is required for after-sales service, and to make people aware we have launched this scheme," Malhotra said, as per PTI.

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said the mobile app for the scheme has been downloaded by over 50,000 people so far.

Dushyant Chautala along with Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra and Chairman CBIC Sanjay Agarwal visited a marketplace in Gurugram to encourage customers to demand a GST invoice on their purchases, said CBIC in a tweet.

How To Participate In Lucky Draw

In an earlier tweet, the indirect taxation body CBIC informed that all invoices from suppliers registered under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and issued to consumers will qualify for this initiative. Winners of the monthly and quarterly draw stand a chance to receive cash rewards ranging from Rs 10,000 to an impressive Rs 1 crore.

For an invoice to be considered in the lucky draw, it must reflect a minimum purchase value of Rs 200. Each individual will have the opportunity to upload a maximum of 25 invoices per month, beginning in September.

To facilitate this process, the 'Mera Bill Mera Adhikar' mobile application will be accessible on both IOS and Android platforms. The uploaded invoice should contain essential details such as the seller's GSTIN, invoice number, amount paid, and tax amount.
