'Generational Leap': FICCI Says Launch Of 5G Services In India A Big Step Towards Ease Of Doing Business
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched the 5G Services in India at Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) 2022 at Pragati Maidan in Delhi.
Commenting on the launch of 5G Services in India, FICCI President, Sanjiv Mehta said: “The launch of 5G services by the PM is yet another momentous milestone in the nation’s economic journey and will facilitate both ease-of-doing-business and the ease of living. It will revolutionise our digital sector and will also augment agriculture, disaster management, healthcare, education, logistics and transport, fintech, industry4.0 and is a big push for AatmNirbhar Bharat.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched the 5G Services in India at Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) 2022 at Pragati Maidan in Delhi. The 5G telecom services seek to provide seamless coverage, high data rate, low latency and highly reliable communications system. The three major telecom operators of the country demonstrated one use case each in front of the Prime Minister to show the potential of 5G technology in India.
Speaking on the 5G launch, Arun Chawla, Director General, FICCI said: “It is a generational leap that can help increase the telecom sector’s contribution to GDP to 8-9 per cent from 6.5 per cent presently.”
He stated that 5G services will significantly improve the nation's digital ecosystem, guarantee last-mile service delivery, and hasten the socioeconomic development of the country.
Between 2023 and 2040, it is predicted that 5G technology would boost India's GDP by US$ 450 billion. In India, 5G has the potential to be really transformational. Once constructed, it will support up to one million linked devices per square kilometre, vs just 2,000 under 4G.
