Chhath Puja 2024 Bank Holiday: Banks in certain states will remain closed for four consecutive days due to Chhath Puja, followed by the weekend, which includes a second Saturday and Sunday.

In November 2024, banks will be closed for about 13 days. While physical bank branches will be closed these days, customers will still have access to digital banking services. Mobile banking, online banking, ATMs, and other digital facilities will remain operational, and any disruptions to these services will be communicated to customers in advance.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) publishes the annual list of bank holidays, which includes weekends (second and fourth Saturdays), all Sundays, national holidays, and region-specific festival holidays. These festival dates are based on local customs and celebrations.

Here is the complete list of the upcoming bank holidays in November 2024:

Chhath Puja 2024 Holidays

November 7 (Thursday): Banks will be closed in Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand, and West Bengal for the Chhath Puja Evening Arghya.

November 8 (Friday): Banks will remain shut in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Meghalaya for the Chhath Puja Morning Arghya/Wangala Festival.

Other Holidays

November 9 (Saturday): Banks will be closed nationwide for the second Saturday of the month. (Banks are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.)

November 10 (Sunday): Banks will be closed as it is a regular Sunday holiday.

November 15 (Friday): Banks will be closed in several states and union territories, including Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland, West Bengal, New Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Srinagar.

Bank customers are encouraged to refer to the official bank holiday list provided by the Reserve Bank of India to confirm the specific closure dates in their region. To ensure a smooth banking experience, planning visits in advance is advisable. ATMs and cash deposit machines will remain fully operational daily, including during bank holidays and festive occasions, ensuring customers have uninterrupted access to essential banking services.
