Budget Session Instills Confidence In World Regarding India's Economic Progress: PM Modi

PM Modi welcomed all MPs in the session today and urged opposition and political parties for a healthy debate.

New Delhi: The Budget Session 2022 of the Parliament commenced today after President Ram Nath Kovind addressed both the houses. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the members of Parliament and the media outside the Parliament House.

PM Modi welcomed all MPs in the session today. He said, "Budget Session commences today. I welcome you and all MPs to this session. In today's global situation, there are a lot of opportunities for India. This session instills confidence in the world regarding the country's economic progress, vaccination program, Made in India vaccines."

He further said, "True that polls affect Sessions & discussions. But I request all MPs that elections will go on but Budget Session draws a blueprint for entire year. The more fruitful we make this session, the better opportunity rest of the year becomes to take the country to economic heights."

PM Modi also urged opposition and political parties for a healthy debate and discussion and said that every member should openly put forth their views and the government is ready to discuss important topics.

The Prime Minister said, "In this Session too, discussions, issues of discussions & open-minded debates can become an important opportunity for global impact. I hope that all MPs, political parties will have quality discussions with open mind & help take the country on the path to development swiftly."

Part one of the session would end on February 11. The second part would begin on March 14 and conclude on April 8.

From February 2 to February 11, the Lok Sabha is scheduled to sit from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Members will be accommodated in the Lok Sabha chamber and its galleries (except Press Gallery) and the Rajya Sabha chamber and its galleries (except Press Gallery).

During the first part of the session, the Discussion on Motion of Thanks on President's Address and General Discussion on Budget will be held and the government has tentatively fixed four days for Discussion on Motion of Thanks which will mean 40 hours for it and other business such as questions, Private Members' Business, and others.
