A 24-year-old software developer in Bengaluru has impressed his peers and brought great joy to his parents after securing a job with Uber that offers an annual salary of Rs 60 lakh (LPA). Chitransh Anand, a graduate of NIT Ahmedabad, previously worked at Oracle for two years and began seeking better job opportunities when he discovered the listing for this role.
"I would go through the discussion boards on Leetcode and Levels; it's where I found out about the vacancy at Uber and decided to apply for it," Anand told Moneycontrol. Seven months of research were also dedicated to preparing for the interviews, with many sleepless nights spent in the process. He shared that four rounds were conducted, two of which were particularly challenging, with questions that exceeded the scope of his studies, but he still managed to crack them. Anand is set to join Uber late next month.
When asked about his family's reaction to the news, Anand shared that his parents, especially his mother, are extremely proud of him. "They were very happy. My mom lives with me in Bengaluru and she has seen my sleepless nights and late-night studies so she was very happy. They also told me to focus on my health now," he said.

At Oracle, Anand enjoyed a healthy work-life balance, working from the office three out of five days. At Uber, he will only need to report to the office two days a week and believes he won’t have to put in long hours.
He shared that he spoke with his future manager and also explored company discussion forums, so he doesn’t anticipate long hours at work. He also said that he wouldn’t mind putting in extra hours if needed.
Anand remarket that at this stage of his career, he is not overly concerned about work-life balance. “I need to make the most of the opportunities available and work hard. I can figure out a better balance later in life," he said.
When asked about plans for the additional income, Anand mentioned that he intends to increase his investments in stocks and mutual funds. He also plans to explore the US markets and isn’t interested in spending on a car or house right now. "I have no plans of buying a house or a car as of now, but may think about it in another couple of years," he said.
