Bank Holidays In March 2024: Branches To Remain Closed For 14 Days, Check State-Wise Holiday List

These holidays are decided on the basis of region-specific festivals, along with general weekend holidays, applicable to all banks across the country

Bank Holidays in March 2024: During the month of March, banks are scheduled to remain closed for a total of 14 days due to both national and regional holidays. 

It is imperative that customers plan their bank appointments in the month according to the full holiday list. These holidays are decided on the basis of region-specific festivals, along with general weekend holidays, applicable to all banks across the country. These bank holidays are inclusive of festivals, national holidays, weekend holiday - second and fourth Saturdays, and all Sundays. 

In March, bank employees will also have the benefit of a long weekend in certain regions due to the holidays around the Holi weekend.

While the bank branches would stay closed on these holidays, the digital services such as mobile banking, UPI, and internet banking would continue undisrupted and be accessible to customers across India. Any change in bank schedules would be informed prior. 

Bank holidays in India are listed under the State Government, Central Government, and Union Territories Act of 1881. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), publishes the  bank holiday calendar for the whole year, and this is followed by all the banks across India.
