New Delhi: Toyota has revealed the prices of its Hyryder compact SUV and the hybrid version is priced at Rs 15.11 lakh for the entry-level S trim. The top-end hybrid V trim is priced at Rs 18.99 lakh along with the G variant being priced at Rs 17.49 lakh. The Hybrid Urban Cruiser Hyryder has a claimed mileage of 27.97km/l. One of the big highlights of the Hyryder hybrid is that there is a dedicated electric mode which enables the car to run on electric power alone for 60% of the time and 40% of the distance.
There is also another engine option with the Hyryder being a 1.5 K series petrol and for that, Toyota has revealed the prices for the top-end V automatic being priced at Rs 17.09 lakh. This engine is also available with an AWD system with a manual gearbox.
The pricing for the Hyryder is indeed very competitive, especially the fantastic fuel efficiency figure that the car has. The top-end Hyryder also gets various features like a heads-up display, a 360-degree view camera and ventilated seats amongst other features including a 9-inch touchscreen.
The hybrid Hyryder has a 1.5-litre TNGA Atkinson Cycle engine that produces 92hp and 122Nm of torque while an electric motor adds in 79hp and 141Nm. The total power output is 115bhp in a combined figure.
The Hyryder is the first compact SUV from Toyota and the hybrid powertrain sure does make the Hyryder stand out amongst rivals. The Hyryder competes with rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the Volkswagen Taigun along with the Skoda Kushaq. The Hyryder will be joined by the Grand Vitara as Maruti Suzuki and Toyota have both developed this SUV for India. Toyota already sells hybrid cars like the Camry in India.
