FAME II: GST Reduction Leads To Price Drop Of Rs. 28,000 On Electric Scooters
The government has reduced the GST on electric two-wheelers. Earlier the GST rate was 12%, which has been reduced to 5%, which will result in price reduction of top electric two-wheelers.
As the price of petrol in the country is sky-rocketing, the government is giving subsidy to lower the retail price of electric two-wheelers. The government has reduced the GST on electric two-wheelers under the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME II) scheme. The prices have been reduced to Rs. 28,000 after the GST rate was dropped to 5% from the earlier 12%. Let's see the new updated prices of the electric two-wheelers.
Revolt RV 400
Revolt Motors has reduced the price of the Revolt RV400 by Rs 28,200, after which its price has come to Rs. 62,599. Earlier its price was Rs. 90,799 ex-showroom. For this model, the company has used a 5kW electric motor. There are 3 riding modes offered in this electric bike which includes Eco, Normal and Sport. The company is giving a warranty of 8 years or up to 1.5 lakh kilometres.
TVS iQube Electric
The prices of the TVS iQube electric scooter launched this year by TVS Motors have also come down. As a result of the FAME II subsidy, the price of TVS iQube has been decreased by Rs. 11,250. After the price reduction, the new price of this electric scooter has come to Rs. 100,777 (Delhi) and Rs. 110,506 (Bengaluru). The TVS iQube electric scooter is equipped with a 4.4 kW electric motor. It gives a range of 75 km in on a single full charge. The top speed of this electric scooter is 78 kmph. This electric scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40 kilometers per hour in 4.2 seconds.
Okinawa iPraise
The price of Okinawa i-Praise has also been cut by up to Rs 17,900. This electric scooter is priced at Rs 1.15 lakh but now it can be bought for just Rs 97,100. The scooter is available in three colours namely Glossy Red Black, Glossy Golden Black, Glossy Silver Black. The company has also developed an app, Okinawa Eco, for this scooter that can be downloaded from Google Play Store.
Ather 450X
The price of Ather Energy's electric scooter Ather 450X has also come down with a reduction of Rs. 14,500. It gives a range of 116Km on a full charge, while it has a range of 85km on Eco mode and 75km on Ride mode. The scooter is powered by a 2.9kwh battery, which generates 6kW of power and generates 26Nm of torque. This model can accelerate from 0 to 40 km in just 3.41 seconds. The price of the Ather 450X scooter earlier priced at Rs. 1,46,926 now stands at Rs. 1,32,426 lakh.
Hero Photon HX
After the subsidy the Hero Electric Photon HX can now be bought at Rs. 71,449. Features like a digital speedometer, remote lock with anti-theft alarm, combi brake system, LED lighting and USB port have been provided in this scooter.
Hero Optima HX
Apart from these, the price of Hero Electric Optima HX has been drastically cut. 15,600 rupees have been reduced from this electric two-wheeler model. After the subsidy, the price (ex-showroom) of Hero Optima HX dual-battery variant is Rs 58,990. At the same time, you will now be able to bring its single battery model home for Rs 53,600. Before the price reduction of this scooter, the price of Hero Optima HX dual-battery variant was Rs 74,660 while its single battery was Rs 61,640. This scooter gives a driving range of up to 82 km on a single charge.
