New Delhi: Another new electric car has landed in India and this time it is from German luxury car-maker BMW. They have launched their third electric car in India after the iX and the Mini electric. The car in question is the i4 electric sedan and it is the first of its kind in India.

The main talking point here is the massive 590km range that the i4 gives in one charge with its huge 83.9 kWh battery pack.

The i4 is based on the 3 series but gets a sportier design and a more coupe like styling which only makes it more different looking when compared with the standard 3 Series.

The wheels are also different, being new aero special wheels which improve the range.

The interior has the latest iDrive infotainment system while there is a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a huge 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Other luxury features include a sunroof, three zone climate control system, ambient lighting, 17-speaker Harman Kardon audio system and more.

The i4 has a rear axle motor which develops 340hp and 430Nm with the top-speed being limited to 190km/h.

It is the i4 eDrive 40 which has the huge claimed range of 590km and that is the highest range amongst EVs and a fast DC charger can charge it from 10-80 percent in just 31 minutes. The car will come with a 11kW charger as standard.

The i4 is priced at Rs 69.90 lakh and that also makes it very competitive since it is the EV which is the most efficient yet it is a lot more affordable than other luxury EVs.
