BSA is finally coming with the retro Gold Star motorcycle which will debut on the 15th of August and it will target the likes of the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. It has loads of chrome which again gives it a classic look while other elements are also taken from their earlier models like the fuel tank design and the fenders.
BSA is a classic British name and it is finally ready to enter our markets. The retro theme comes from the design which draws heavy inspiration from the original. The engine on offer is a 652 cc and it is a Liquid-cooled, single- cylinder motor with 4 valves, twin spark plugs.
The power and torque is 45bhp and 55Nm. The transmission is a 5-speed gearbox while the suspension comprises 41 mm telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers with 5-step adjustable preload at the rear.

Of course, spoked rims are there to match the classic look of the bike while the braking duties are handled by a Single 320 mm floating disc, Brembo twin-piston floating calliper, ABS at the front and a Single 255 mm disc, Brembo single-piston floating calliper the back with ABS.
The weight of the bike is around 213kg. We expect the Gold Star to be priced competitively within the region of its Royal Enfield rival and we think the pricing would be around Rs 3 lakh.
BSA also plans more bikes and we expect the Indian market to receive them as well. We like the simple and classic styling of this bike and its retro charm is the key to the appeal but it remains to be seen how it compares with its twin cylinder rival.
