Auto Expo 2023: Maruti Suzuki To Launch Two New SUVs Including Jimny 5-door

The Jimny would be the only Maruti SUV to be a hard-core off-roader and the 5-door version has been tailor-made for our market.

Maruti Suzuki will launch two new SUVs at the 2023 Auto Expo, which will be held next month. The two new SUVs would be additions to the range which currently has seen other launches like the new Grand Vitara. This time though, the two SUV launches would be a crossover and a proper 4x4 vehicle. You would have guessed what we are talking about and the two SUV launches are the Jimny and the Baleno Cross. The Jimny would be the only Maruti SUV to be a hard-core off-roader and the 5-door version has been tailor-made for our market. The Jimny hence would be more spacious and still retain the hardcore off-road ability.

The other SUV would be a crossover based on the Baleno but will have an entirely new identity via new styling and cladding all around. It would be based on the Baleno but would have more ground clearance and fit in below the Brezza. Expect other changes like inclusion of a turbo petrol unit as well on the Baleno Cross.

Maruti Suzuki is looking to increase its SUV portfolio and these two new launches would fill in gaps in their product portfolio. Both the Jimny and the Baleno Cross would be lifestyle SUVs and would be retailed via the Nexa sales outlets.

Other than launching these two new SUVs, the carmaker will also showcase an electric SUV concept on the first media day at the 2023 Auto Expo. Maruti Suzuki has had a busy 2022 on the back of numerous launches like the Baleno, Grand Vitara and the new Brezza while it will look to continue the momentum going forward to 2023 with launches such as the Jimny and the Baleno Cross.
