ABP Live Auto Awards 2022: Hatchback Of The Year – Citroen C3

ABP Live Auto Awards 2022 – Hatchback Of The Year: The all-new Citroen C3 is a good-looking car, powered by punchy engine options while its ability to impress on road conditions.

Our hatchback of the year award goes to Citroen C3, a car that looks modern and adds versatility to the hatchback genre. The French carmaker started its innings in India with C5 Aircross, which is a premium mid-size SUV and is doing quite well in its segment. This year the carmaker launched its all-new offering C3 hatchback, which quickly became popular among buyers.

The all-new Citroen C3 has a quirky design language, which looks quite identical to the C5 Aircross. Up front, it gets Y-shaped LED LED DRLs, headlights, and fog lamps. To give it a more rugged feel, the Citroen hatchback features a faux skid plate at the front and rear along with blacked-out cladding on the sides. The rear end of the car follows a clean design language, which consists of C-shaped LED taillights along with the Citroen logo.

On the inside, it gets a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, which is the biggest in its segment, and it also features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The dashboard of the C3 hatchback has been designed to give its cabin a more modern vibe. Talking about its performance, the new Citroen C3 is powered by a 1.2-litre NA and 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. While the transmission duties are done by a 5-speed MT and a 6-speed MT gearbox option. In terms of performance, both engines offer a good amount of punch with the turbo especially impressing our judges. The gearbox is tuned quite well, and it offers smooth shifts. It feels stable while going hard on corners. Judges also noted the compliant suspension and the excellent ground clearance which further helped it score over other hatchbacks too.
