2023 Range Rover SV India Review: Most Luxurious And Expensive SUV That You Can Buy

The SV version is the most exclusive and the most luxurious Range Rover that you can buy along with being the most expensive at Rs 4 crore plus.

The new Range Rover is now the choice for the elite amongst industrialists and Bollywood with almost every A-Lister having a new Range Rover parked in the driveway. Now there is an even more luxurious Range Rover with more personalisation, about 1.6 million configurations in-fact with the new Range Rover SV. The SV version is the most exclusive and the most luxurious Range Rover that you can buy along with being the most expensive at Rs 4cr plus too. However, the price at this segment does not matter but what does is the luxury element as we will show you.

The Range Rover SV also comes with the long wheelbase version and it is huge with a lot of presence. The SV version adds in some small design changes though to make it stand out as the flagship version. The Range Rover badge is now black while the SV badge is finished in Ceramic at the back. There are bespoke exclusive colours but namely the SV Serenity design theme comes with a different grille finish while Bronze detailing is everywhere along with Silver Satin surround. The same is applied to the huge 23-inch forged wheels with Bronze satin inserts.

The real deal is on the inside though as the SV is all about pure luxury plus getting more options while getting some standard, which are optional on the Autobiography. The front and rear have contrast dualtone designs while the luxury element is more enhanced. You have a wide choice of leathers or even going for a leather free cabin with a sustainable upholstery choice.

Most owners would be in the rear seat and that is the place to be with its four-seat configuration having the Executive Class Comfort Plus seating. Alongside massive individual seats, there is a centre console which runs across the entire cabin. Everything is electric including an electrically powered Club Table which silently opens up and is made from Aluminium.

Then via the touchscreen at the centre you can open the cupholders and even a fridge in the rear seat complete with its own SV branded glasses. Then there are the seats which are amongst the most comfortable with heating/massage/cooling and even some soft cushions to relax yourself in after a hard day's work. Everything is done via the touchscreen including the massive glass roof and yes, you can stretch out in style with a legrest. Oh, before we forget the SV also gets bigger 13.1-inch rear screens.

Up-front you get ceramic finishes which again differentiates itself and feels more special. There are too many features here to list but the 32-speaker surround sound audio is like being in a concert hall. You also get soft close doors, leather headlining, active noise cancellation, Digital LED lamps and more.

To drive, the Range Rover has a proper SUV driving position which gives you a superb view out and despite its size, it is quite easy to drive. The ride though is brilliant despite the massive 23-inch wheels and there is no noise at all. The suspension and the engine both are very quiet-as you expect. Even parking is not a hassle in a city like Mumbai thanks to the surround cameras.

The engine though is a surprise with being a V8. It makes a serious amount of power at 530hp and that means it flies off silently while in Dynamic mode, there is a certain V8 burble which you can hear. Despite its size, you enjoy driving this SUV and the powertrain is part of that.

The Range Rover SV is an indulgence and the V8 plus all of the luxuries are a part of that. This is for the buyer who wants the best and does not mind paying for it. Compared to other luxury SUVs, the Range Rover looks more imposing, isn't vulgar or it does not try too hard. It is quite possibly the ultimate luxury SUV that you can get right now.
